    Leaking windscreen, but no leak.......??

This is a very minor issue compared to any other posting but here goes: Whenever I use the windscreen washers I can smell the fluid from inside (windows up). There is no evidence of a drip or moisture/corrosion under the dash but some fluid must be getting through to the cab.
Seeing as so many Disco problems are shared amongst the fleet I wonder if anyone has an asnswer. I am concerned that if water is getting round the windscreen it could be rotting out passageways I have no access to. Considering replacing the w/screen. Wot say?

You may be getting the smell through the plenum chamber air inlet. Opening is on lhs. Must be a pretty strong odour from washing fluid....

It's where the fresh/outside air comes from for your ventilation system.

    The Smell

You can take the lower windscreen cover off after removing wiper arms.
that should give you a good view of where the smell is getting in,on either side near the unused wiring for windscreen heaters there are 2 grommets that you can remove to allow any water to escape into the engine bay.

Thanks - things become clearer. That would explain the empty terminal block each side. Will check this out soon. Sounds better than a leaking windscreen.

Talking of terminals flopping around there is one on top of the cross member in front of the fuel tank and one hanging down alongside the RHR brake lines. Found these while replacing the green fuel line. Should they be plugged into something?
    Thanks,
    Pete
