Road trip down to Katherine the Nanacom road speed reading worked fine. Reading is out by about 8 km per hour approx according to the GPS Sspeed reading.

Jiggle connector C0067, concentrate on the pink/green wire to pin 5, if no effect check the RH side connector at the top of the instrument pack same colour wire....if no joy i'm affraid the problem is within the pack, a dry joint or something....dont unplug C0067 with battery connected
The SLABS sends out the Roadspeed to a number of ECUs, so what you now know is that SLABS is working fine, and you don't need to touch the sensor or SLABS ECU.
It also means that the wiring is fine between the SLABS ECU and the Td5 Engine ECU.
This means the fault can only be located from the point the speed signal splits up to and including the instrument pack.
Fery's instructions are spot on. Do what he says ;)
Drove to KTown last night.
speedo still not working[bigsad]
at this point it seems fairly likely the speedo is stuffed.
If you have access to a USB scope you could check that you've got a speed signal coming up to the pack, but otherwise replacing the instrument pack is probably the next step. You can resync the odometer reading using the Nanocom.
You didnt say anything about the connector on top of the instrument pack though...Quote:
well I have jiggled the connector, disconected the battery. Pulled apart 067 given it a blow out, reconnected 067 and reconnected the battery. Just have to go for a drive now and see if it worked.
So after a long wait in the workshop whilst Chaffy had new Ashcroft goodness installed in the form of a HD gearbox and transfer case with ATB, it turns out the instrument cluster was faulty. Leigh from Nightcliffe Service Centre sourced a second hand one, reset the km to match mine and Walah, working speedo again.
