Is the OBDII port powered up with the ignition off?

the straight answer for that is YES, the OBD port has permannent feed on pin 16 connected directly to the battery through fuse F20 interior fusebox and FL3 engine bay, simple as that :cool:

Ahh ok. Wasn't sure. I apologise. I just know the devices I have used in the past weren't "powered up" until key was switched to "on"...

...and some OBDII devices will power down when the car turns off after a set time (and go into a low power standby setting).

And if you are really paranoid, some OBDII dongles with wifi or Bluetooth that stay powered up can be hacked.....
