If he puts fly wire behind the it defeats the purpose of the open mesh. Cooling is what he is after. Adding flywire is then another bit that will stop the flow.

My SCA mesh, while not square, is angled as such that any bugs that hit it are sliced pretty epically!
The paint does come off in the high pressure car wash but that's just a half an hour job with a rattle can, if I put some effort into it it would probably be better :D
