IIRC the CDL switch might have one side earthed through fitting but not sure about that so first of all check that with multimeter, if you get earth one one terminal run a wire from the other terminal to C0681/0668 and splice into pin 7(black/blue wire) , if no terminal earthed connect one to earth, important is to get an earth to that connector when the CDL is lockedQuote:

Bang on Sierrafery. I pulled the console apart to gain access and tested it with a piece of wire and it lights the dash indicator and provides input to the ECU. System works as per earlier models, if CDL engaged before starting the engine the TC and ABS are disabled and if engaged after starting the engine TC and ABS are still on. No consequences with axle lockers cos then the wheels on the same axle are spinning with the same speed so the TC will rest by default as the ECU will get similar inputs from the sensors if you see what i mean also that ECU is enhanced to not activate TC so easy and it has the brake overheat prevention in it....though if you want to fit axle lockers and CDL too no need for uprated SLABS ECU cos with all those locked the TC is useless and wouldn't kick in anyway
Dont bother with front and rear lockers.:confused:
A D2 with functioning TC and CDL locked is awesome and provides virtually all the benefits of lockers without the downsides in all but the most extreme circumstances.
IMO especially considering a D2 -front and rear lockers are for one of 3 reasons.
1/ No elecrtonic driver aids due to build vintage (not a D2 issue).
2/ Competition or extreme use.
3/ the most common: Too much money, too little understanding, reading too many magazines, lazy driving techniques and sounds cool to boast.
Find your CDL inputs and use your existing ECU.
I recall as your model was solely reliant on the SLABS ECU for traction, yours may have the later SLABS ECU with revised parameters, in which case great.
If not just cut the blue wire as per "The Good Oil" :cool:
There is absolutely no need to fit a later model SLABS ECU.
Tyre size, pressure, speed and driving technique have a greater effect than any of the enhancements found in the later SLABS ECU off road.;)
I just know ill upset someone saying this but...
Claims of noticeable CDL locked performance offroad are from those justifying to themselves the effort and expense of changing out to a later ECU. [bigwhistle]
The variations in the later SLABS ECU are essentially irrelevant to CDL locked genuine low range 4wd operation.
The later ECU does however do a better job in unlocked situations.
In the attachment is the picture of how a brake pad looks after 50 miles mostly off road with working TC and locked diff(the version with cut wire on early SLABS) , so i insist that cutting that wire with the locked diff input to SLABS is not a good ideea in contradiction with what the general consensus was some time ago and i've studied all the available wabco documents about how the TC works... happened to me as well to loose motion in deep mud due to that cut wire as i followed the recommendations without any research...and now knowing exactly how the TC works i know it was not odd at all, i'm convinced that wabco inhibited the TC with locked diff for a good reason...that's my oppinion don't shoot me for that
