Sierraferry I don't question you lifted that pic from a forum with the "claimed" scenario. However I'll call BS at the claimed 50 miles scenario.
If a pic tells a story them the story is overall concocted and begs the question on just how much noise, smoke and stink was coming from that poor vehicle before the drivers behavior finally ceased.

Hi strangy, for me that pic was only one clear confirmation of the way i understood how the TC works, with locked diff and fully operational TC(cut input to slabs) it's almost the same like descending with HDC a steep hill when the gravitational force acting on the vehicle is forcing the wheels against the brakes and with TC the locked diff does that, the difference is that with HDC there is a very strict brake overheat prevention protocol with warning and fade out default while with fully operational TC it's not, after i've lost motion once in deep mud with the cut wire setup and studied the system deeply i went out with some friends, found a nice mud trap and made tests, happened exactly like before, in the deepest mud i lost motion with constant throttle at around 2500rpm in 3'rd gear with locked diff and full TC, backed out then tried with only locked diff and restored cdl input then unlocked diff with the same throttle and went through the trap without probs, i can tell also that it went nicer with unlocked diff only with TC, this test corroborated with all the wabco documents i've studied confirmed me this CDL-TC antagonism... since then i've fitted a bran new SRD500070 and IMO that's the best setup ever, i was wondering why my friend with the fully equipped 2004 modell(SRD500070 from factory) made jokes on me before cos he had to tow me out from mud few times with my old setup... so that's my own experience with that.

So guys, with my limited comprehension, can I assume this locked diff issue does not apply if you have LSD, Trutrac/s or ATBs etc?

I dont quite understand your question, sorry...the gist of all my theory is that there's no problem as long as the system is not modified aka that it's not a good ideea to cut the locked diff input to SLABS only to not get the ABS and TC warnings on pre-facelift modells.

Question relates to affecting those who in the affected scenario add locked diffs vs those who simply add limited slip diff/s ie not fully locked

In simple terms it will vary between not applicable at all or essential insignificant.
The more mechanical devices available for traction the less the electronic driver AIDS need to compensate.

Sounds good to me - less money spent!

Is there an OBD II cable for the Nanocom long enough that I could install up the inside of the A pillar and across to the overhead console above the rear-vision mirror while I have the roof lining out?

I'm planing on getting a nanocom later but just want to run a cable now, looks like a good spot for it.

I'd need to check, but the cable probably has only 3 or 4 pins
    K line for the data

    Gnd

I have a nagging feeling that the k line may be a pair.
I'd suggest running cat 5 cable up to there and get the obd plug and the plug for the nanocom. They are standard common parts.

I see no reason why you cannot create any reasonable length cable you want. If it attaches, the documentation from BBS website identifies colours and how many threads each LR vehicle version needs, plus there are a number of angled connectors available on the market so you can make up your own to suit. I'm no expert, so worth double checking with BBS that you have chosen the right cable - the rest is easy for any competent electronics person.
