Replaced the centrifugal filter, at last.

    Hello all
Finally, after buying the filter, the torque wrench, the 1/4 inch drive extension, I have replaced the centrifugal filter.!! An easy enough job, but for some one who has done very little in vehicle maintenance apart from changing the oil and filters, something totally new. It took two attempts to get the cover back on, (Not much room ) I tightened the bolts to the RAVE specification.
No oil leeks that I can see. I have driven an 18km test run and still no leaks.
I know that this is a small job, It is for me but a start. I am building up to a 'B' service and replacing the engine mounts in a couple of weeks, oh and fixing the EGR

    Cheers all

    Bo

    Well done !

    Time & patience

As for engine mounts ... no time, no patience !
Mine's going to the mechanic for this (and new gearbox mounts at the same time).

    Hi Bohica,
Congrats on changing the centrifuge filter, not wishing to dampen your enthusiasm if the next job you are tackling after the centrifuge filter is the engine mounts this is quite a significant leap. I wish you the very best of luck.

    Cheers Marty.

not that I keep up with rattler bits,, but-
from what I read there is a problem with aftermarket centrifuge filters not spinning,
upon shutdown you should hear the filter still spinning,

I'm sure a more knowledgeable AURLOIAN will be along shortly

Well done mate it realy is not that hard once you have done it a few times

The engine mounts i dont think are as hard as some say . If your competent with hand tools and have a good jack with a bit of wood its a walk in the park with some time to take in the surrounding veiws
