Deleted V8 auto centre muffler - results

I asked the previous owner about the fuel economy when I bought mine.

To quote him "If you are worried about the fuel economy, then this isn't the car for you"

Needless to say I bought it anyway and have taken his advice and never bothered to check the fuel economy.

I know that I smile every time I drive it and that's enough for me.

There's no reason they can't do it, big lazy V8's can just tick over, where small engines need to work. It's all in realising that efficiency.

BTW, as you say re the DPL 5.0V8, a fellow I work with has one of these and is also finding it cheaper to run, more powerful and more effortless to drive compared to the 4.0V8 that was in it.

Pardon my ignorance, what is a DPL 5.0V8?
