M&S lights, no ignition, cant lock or unlock via key btn or dash btn

    2001 D2 TD5 ES

AutoParked car today, running fine. Had fridge running. Dual batt system. Few hours later went to move the car.... 5 dings and M&S lights when i turned the ign on. Doesn't go to start when key fully turned.

Checked battery charge, 12.5 v
Checked all fuses, undee bonnet and under steering wheel
Used nanocom, checked faults, position switch fault in gearbox. Reset, no change.
Checked position of xys inputs, all read open regardless of position of gear lever.

Had the tranny replaced a few thousand kms ago, and had previously installed the a/c condensate diversion hose to stop the water dripping on the xyz switch, but havent checked that it is still there. 38 deg c day here in melb and had the a/c flat out.

Also pressed the inertia switch just in case, nothing.

Would i be correct, or is there something else i can check?

Check the small lucar connector on the starter solenoid to not be loosened, if it's not unplug it, ask somebody to turn ignition to crank and measure if you have voltage on it... if you have plug it back and measure voltage on the battery while you try to crank it to see if it drops down below or not... the XYX switch fault should not stop it to crank eventually crank but no start... if no voltage on the thin solenoid feed we'll speak then
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
