Stay with what you have used. 300 is not a lot of ks for a diesel. I have always subscribed to the theory its not good practice to change brand/types/ grades of oil midstream.

X 3 for Penrite diesel 5w-40. That's what Charlie is running.

Thanks for getting back i did stay with the Penrite ,But tell me what idiot put the oil filter in that position ,its just about impossible to get at![]()
Agreed, however ther are ways to make life easier.
You need to get or make yourself onve of these -
I made this one out of a piece of 3mm steel plate. Modified slightly since above photos to now fit both the Mahle & Coopers filters.
Loosen the filter then pull one of the plastic shopping bags up arou d the filter and then finish undoing it by hand and manouver it out inside the bag. I've used this method often and any spilt oil is always caught in the bag with no mess to clean up after.

Alternatively you could just buy it from his Ebay store.

Yes made worse by idiots that feel the need to tighten the oil filter where you need a breaker bar to unloosen it.
I service my own truck and never tighten the oil filter more than a 1/4 turn once seated. Filter always comes off next service without any fuss and I have never had any leaks or filter problems!!
Or you could buy some oil filter pliers. Don't need to get under it then with a tool.
