Permanent live feed required in luggage area of D2a

    hi all,

does anyone know of a reasonably accessible wire which is permanently live in the luggage area of a D2a (V8 'S')? eg. around the rear light access panels (either side). I would like to run a low power accessory (<0.5A) which needs to be permanently on.

    Thanks

Look at the wire colours in the loom, a plain purple wire (no stripes) should have permanent (fused) 12V available on it for the trailer plug. I think it is shared by the interior lights and the radio memory.

Also you'll find the unused parking sensor loom in the LH rear behind the louvered panel or thereabouts. This runs up to the LH binnacle switch panel, so handy to adapt to your needs too.

The RAVE cd has full details.
    Cheers

Thanks, I do have trailer tow, but no purple wire. I don't think the 7pin trailer tow has permanent live.

Thanks, I found those connections and they may come in useful in the future (previous owner added an aftermarket 2 sensor parking system connected on the other side, obviously not realising several wires were already available).
However, according to RAVE, there's no permanent live unfortunately.

The connector for the trailer wiring behind the right light cluster(C1481) has a permannent live in it which is unused in the 7 pin connector setup... iirc pin 6 purple/brown trace wire

Thanks I'll check the harness again. I was refering to the Australian 7pin connector, I think you may be refering to the European round connector (assuming you are from Transylvania Europe).

Yes i'm from Europe but IMO even if the trailer connectrors are different the wiring of the car untill the connector beneath the right lamp cluster should be the same cos the diagram is the same, see RAVE - electrical library - connector views : C1481
