Ken it'll be the crank sensor. I have come across the same scenario and it is odd but true. P0340 code is cam sensor however a crank sensor fault will also throw it too.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
In case that the crankshaft sensor scenario is ruled out and no joy disconnect and check for voltage in the camshaft sensor's plug?... you should get steady ignition feed across pins 1(black wire) -3(brown/pink wire) of it's plug to rule out a bad earth or feed
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
