Td5 crankshaft bolt - reusable or not?

    Hi Guys,
Doing catch up maintenance and head gasket on new to me Td5. Is the crankshaft pulley bolt a one use item. like the head bolts, or can it be re-used? RAVE says discard in the dismantling sequence but doesn't say replace with new as it does with other single use fasteners.
    Thanks for any advice.
    Charles.

It is a use once and throw away.
Why are you taking it off?

    Have a look at

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

They are a use once item as they are basically torqued so high they stretch. Yes can use again in a pinch but if they come loose its mayhem all round, from fretted cranks to broken crank noses, to destroyed radiators! So yeah I replace for a few dollars.

    Hi guys,
Thanks for the information and I will be now definitely be replacing the bolt. In process of fan bearing r&r among other things. Crank damper is in perfect condition, so no issues there.
    Cheers, Charles
