best way to clean ignition lock?

I seem to have added some dirt, via the key. The key goes in ok but is very hard to pull out. I know that WD40 is not recommended, is dry lube, graphite ok? or a blow with an air gun?

    Thanks

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Brake clean to get rid of oil and dirt, followed by dry lube spray.
