I took the Disco off the black stuff.
ok it was only Banyule State Park in Echuca. But! I did get to use the CDL and low range. and I got stuck, being a retard and going through the ruts that had a lot more mud in them than it looked like. A dumb move. I used the bottle jack to lift up the front, ARB bull bar, as the diff was grounded on the central high part. I dug out under the front wheels as best as I could and put branches under the wheels, and drove out backwards. Still up on the jack to keep the clearance. I moved back about 2 metres. So jack up and repeat, got out of the ruts, all good. Phew!
One thing is that as the wheels spun away, the TC did not seem to kick in. How can I test the TC? no faults logged in the ECU or the SLABS, so I guess the TC works?
I have been back a few times, I have avoided the ruts. I went up a fairly steep hill in low range 2nd gear, stalled just at the top. Hnadbrake on, restart and carry on.
IIf you want to make a commenbt on me being an idiot just send an email to "iwasanidiot@gmail.com"
comments on TC issues welcome.
The good thing about Banyule State Park, for a n00b, is that it is so close to assistance, if needed.
My biggest worry was that I would need help from a toyota patriot navara, or similar.
Cheers all Bo
