Clutch plate gonski!
I have put two on my car... It is now a service item to check the bolt tightness. I used green Loctite and did it up FT!
Had to buy a good condition compressor to get the plate... might put that in the markets!
engagement clutch plate thats pulled in by the magnet has gone walkies
quick google for the part number based off of the compressor number, then go backwards and find out what other ranges of compressors have it fitted then step back again to find out which vehicles have it fitted and then off to a wreckers or even ebay with you.
Let me check, i might have one. I replaced the whole compressor early in 2015. I might actually have two

Steve don't forget to make sure you don't lose the spacer washer inside the plate where the bolt goes through. It gives the correct clearance between the clutch faces so the compressor doesn't drag .
that does make for some very interesting noises and belt damage.
Ok, still looking, got distracted and tidied the car port and then forgot i was looking for the plate :)

Hi all!
Well, after getting to the bottom of the issue (clutch plate won't be able to pull in if it's not there anymore!) I read some of the older threads and decided to have a poke around the engine bay to see if the plate was still hanging around...happily, it was lodged between the radiator and one of the hoses!
It even had the spacer washers inside still, just missing the M6 bolt.
I've managed to re-attach the plate (locktite on the bolt) and it works like a treat now!
Many thanks for all your input and support.
As an aside, I found a few suppliers in the USA selling via Ebay that can supply a replacement plate, but not cheap when including postage (over $100 USD). Still cheaper than a new compressor & regas though!
I've seen a butt-load of these plates fall off before on TD5's and V8's but only on these cars never on anything else... I loctited mine in and checked it next service and it was about 2 turns out!! Madness!
