    Td5 lack of coolant pressure

    Hi all,
After numerous repairs, including head gasket, new radiator etc etc I have a weird issue with the Td5. Bled cooling system very carefully according to RAVE and advice read on the forum. Ran the car today and top radiator hose stayed "soft" even when car had been driven and brought up to operating temperature. This seemed odd, so I carefully released the coolant tank cap with the system hot and engine running and there was zero pressure...When I cracked the bleed screw in top hose, coolant squirted out with no sign of air. Coolant hoses all in correct order according to RAVE but the fuel filter was too hot to touch, making me wonder whether the fuel cooler is somehow the problem?

Car has the "new" style radiator but I don't have the restrictor in the fuel cooler as not available.

    Cheers, Charles

Any suggestions welcome as this car is starting to do my head in

As long as there's no collant loss and no overheating it seems quite normal to me, the top hose must not be harder than a matured banana and it's possible to not hear any hiss with engine running at that 1.4 bar pressure...though you can put a new tank cap just to be ruled out, the fuel filter can get up to 70*C(or eeven more) after a long run so not a joy to put your hand on it
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned

Thanks for that. I am pretty used to vehicles that blow the cap off if you crack when warm, so good to know all may be well.
