    TD5 Engine "Not good vibrations"!

I seem to have a bit of an umpleaseant and non-standard vibration in the TD5 right around 2100 revs, which just happens to be right at the sweet spot for normal gentle driving.
Before we start on the normal stuff such as harmonic balancer, things rubbing/touching against things they shouldn't, stuffed engine pipe flex joint, let's assume I've been over those and discounted them as the cause.

So, what other experiences have people had that cause engine vibrations in a TD5? 'Cause it's a lot of dollars for a ballancer to find out that it's not the ballancer!

Thanking you in advance for your responses!

    Damo.

Engine mounts, unless hypothetically we have also already ruled those out.

So before we start on any stuff, how about we know a bit more about the car?
    Transmission
    Kim's
    What you have replaced.
Rather than folks try and guess what normal stuff you don't wish to be discussed.😀

Nope, they're fine. Nothing protruding or even close to the bottom hole. Actually were done not long ago, genuine part, installed corectly.

It'll probably be your hand brake , to diagnose drive it with it vibrating then gently pull on the handbrake , you can adjust it temporarily , but there's a fix .

    Harmonic balancer

you could remove the accessory belt and see if the harmonic balancer is loose and wobbly.

    Cheers

OK. Thanks for the handbrake tip, however I failed to mention that this occurs also when the engine is free revving.

Km's are high. Like every other TD5 unless someones dropped in new crated motor! All the normal and well known age/km related issues have been addressed and done so professionally.

What I'm looking for is the odd stuff. I don't want the same answers that come when relating it to how many km's it's done or if it's auto or manual. The vibration is on the engine. It may well be the harmonic, it could be an injector imbalance at that rev range, but as I said, I'm looking for someone who says "That's what mine used to do, this is what is was, this is how I fixed it."

So, everything is fine with revs until 2100 then smooth again at about 2250 and up.

Who has experienced someting like that, a notciable, even slightly harsh vibtration at such a specific reve range?

This is your thread do what you wish.
Don't take it personally, but seriously you are wasting yours and any well meaning effort to help.

I have a problem, I want help, I won't tell you anything but trust me I've done everything that can be done, read the good oil, checked everything but still have a problem.
Everyone throw all the same stuff I already know back at me and I'll tell you if you I have looked at it.
Transmission type makes a difference so does what has been replaced/repaired. But you already know that and still won't provide any info.
My best suggestion is you take it to the professionals who addressed all the "usual stuff"
and play the guessing game with them.
They at least have some history to work with.

    I'm out good luck.

The handbrake shoes will rattle free revving as well and yes I've experienced it many times but if you don't want to pull on the hand brake to eliminate it there's not much more I can help you with.

Didn't say i wouldn't however I have adjusted the handbrake since getting the vehicle and have not noticed a change in the vibration.

I'm heading out to pick up the rug rat so I'll give it a go now.
