I teach STEM, Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics. This is part of my Professional Development. I'd guess that the education department would be pleased that I am providing the materials and saving them money.

I'm not sure of the design at present. I think a threaded shank may have to much lateral wobble. The two ideas at the moment are total removal of the mounting pin "axle" m6 bolt, washer and nylock nut, that may still have a lateral instability. Or partial removal of "axle" that leave 6 mm or so of "axle" for the wheel to run on.

Or may be a double wheel version with the threaded shank. I need to have a good look at the assembly to see if this would work.

I know why dont you glue it as glue works on lotus car building [bigrolf]

When I did a brass wheel I just ground the pin, knocked it out and then when reinstalling added a couple of tack welds.

Has held up for the last 9 years [emoji6]

It would be easier to take a bit of flat steel, mill the edge so it sits nicely in the channel ( courtesy of your mate in work shop) AKA like the link I posted for the plastic one, drill and counter sink for bolt and nylock nut and go the slider method, I did this on my disco 1 and it lasted, probably still going strong. I have seen New ones with sliders instead of wheels.

today i decapitated my v8.

i got 1 head off.
gasket shows no failure that i can see.
none of the pistons appear to be steam cleaned.
nothing obvious amiss here.
