A couple of times already those friendly Mexican chaps have dropped in for a visit. So far they always head off again after turning-off and turning-on the ignition and don't seem to cause any trouble when they are here. But I would like to find out how to make them not arrive unannounced in the future. (Perhaps after Donald builds his Wall they won't visit anymore??)
Good news is that I had a look at the front axle drive shaft and the double cardan joint seems to have grease nipples on both unis, as does the UJ at the front diff. And all the UJs look to be well lubricated. I wasn't able to find a nipple on the front sliding joint - should there be one?
The rear shaft has a greaseable UJ at the park brake and one for the sliding joint, and the usual rubber 'dough-nut' at the rear diff end. Does all this sound OK?
Have yet to closely examine all the coolant, fuel, ATF and PAS hoses in the engine bay to check their condition. Been crook as a dog with a cold this week, so crawling under a D2 with deep plastic side steps hasn't appealed... (yes, I'm a wooze...)
