why is bleeding the cooling system so f'ing hard.
Ok
I forgot to mention the bleed screw on the top hose is there still bubbles coming out of that when you are topping up and bleeding the system?
I had a problem with a bad flow through my heater core ( Not heating up ) and I suspect it was partially blocked and a good flushing of the heater core only fixed that problem So maybe yours could also be a bit blocked and stopping you being able to get all the air out.
I agree that a D2 cooling system is a real PITA to bleed compared to most other trucks But you have to persevere and get that air out for the cooling system to work properly [bigsad]
no bleed screw. i have an ls1 in my d2...
i get heat fro the heater but i suspect your right anyway. its on my list of things to replace, so i'll bump it up the list.
cooling the system works well, i can hear the air, thats all
anyone know how to do a heater core replacement?
As you have No bleed screw maybe you could bleed from the outgoing hose from the heater core or some other high point where there is a hose connection, you can bleed from.
It will be fiddly But it may just work [thumbsupbig]
Did the last two big items on the list:
removed window frames from back doors, cleaned up rust and painted. Now i am pro at glass replacement.
Service and inspection of all the things. Other than a mysterious foreign object in the sump and getting my grease gun stuck on the tailshaft uni, went nice and smoothly.
Tomorrow morning a little more packing, a quick wash and we are off on a year long continent spanning honeymoon road trip adventure!
Might make a thread with some details of the touring build when we get settled into vagabond life.
Adios!
I have a D2a "S" with rear air con, It runs from the one compressor in the engine bay that runs the front air con as far as I know.
If there is a rear air con unit fitted or not I think that the interior panels are the same on all models [thumbsupbig]
I had an ES D2, and the rear panel was definitely different to the right side rear, as I took the seats out and was going to fit storage bins. I did some investigation and found that is where the rear air components are bolted inside.
JLR parts program also lists a different part number for that trim panel for dual zone A/C for 7 seater , and different with just normal Air conditioning 7 seaters
My panel on left side with dual zone air did not have a recess to use as a cubby, the right side did.
Cheers, Mario
