This old girl is box stock in the go department, only just started upgrading the brakes.
Although the work ute sees redline often. I've been told it also drifts well through large roundabouts....[bigwhistle]

So how steep is the hill you are doing the 10.3 second runs on? I'm thinking a near vertical one... From memory a stock Td5 when new and running well was 15 seconds or so... so old and 32 inch tyres...20 seconds stock so what 15 seconds chipped if flogging the bejesus out of it. Otherwise I want the watch you wear.
When you want to see a Disco 2 hustle Pedro and I and a few others have 4.6 V8's we can take you for a spin in.
Cheers
I have never timed my little 4l V8 D2a But I hve No dramas overtaking a roadtrain doing 100k if i am in a hurry towing my boat[bigwhistle]
Mine's stock as a rock and does the standing quarter from Monday to Wednesday. [bigwhistle]
thanks for the offer but I've built a few 4.6 's , so know what they go like. I think if I wanted to see a D2 V8 "hustle" I'd drive the LS3 powered one that was here the other day , or even stop in at Eevo's in south Oz ( he has one I think ) while on my way over to show you what a well tuned ( not just remapped ) TD5 is capable of . ( I wouldn't have to stop at many servo's either ).
I and others are well aware how much you love your V8 and that's great but unless you know the intimate workings of both engines I wouldn't be so quick to take the **** out of the TD5, it's a very tough engine , capable of big numbers and longevity as well as great efficiency when the silly bits have been sorted .
( I can't say the same for most modern diesels , that includes the ford / psa stuff )
The exhaust note on song coupled with the turbo whine does it for me .....even when It's not eating V8's[biggrin]
I expect this one to easily see 500 000 k's before overhaul .
The road was level and I don't wear a watch
