What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Well Bessie (my 2000 D2 which I purchased on Saturday) went to TRS in Lonsdale today to have the error codes read and cleared.

Since having them cleared the 3 amigos have disappeared. I was told that it was indeed the front right wheel sensor that had caused the issue. They quoted $320 to supply and fit new sensor.

While there I also purchased replacement drivers window regulator which I hope to fit sometime this week.

So today's spend was $75 to have the codes read and cleared and $125 for the replacement regulator.

Loving the drive... No matter the cost!!

Yikes! I hope that included fitting.
They are on ebay for $45., I bought one and it seems to be good quality.
I noted when pulling the old one out that it was a second hand one and the mechanics who fitted it had failed to Loctite the motor mounts and it had been drifting around increasing the clunks.

Nope that didnt include fitting lol.

I will only go to them now if I need something NOW.

I have found that the FPR is leaking so have gone to ebay for that. TRS in Lonsdale quoted me $245 for a reconditioned unit with gasket.

The joys of D2 ownership I guess :)

Use the Ford fpr unit..do a search..they don't fail as often!

This is a D2 TD5 not a 2.7 as in Territory.
All FPRs seem to leak.
Mine has been OK for 6 years but the diesel smell tells me it is leaking a bit. IMHO the repair kit will fix 90% of cases as most leaks are either from the Gasket or from the regulator itself. Make sure the filter in the head is clean and you get a replacement Oring for between the head filter and the FPR body. Do not damage the filter or it will make your eyes water.
