High mileage, or engines subjected to excessive idling and/or lite duty cycles will "glaze". Glazing is when the crosshatching fills with carbon, resulting in the bore being too smooth to seal against the rings sufficiently to prevent blowby. The CEM product removes the carbon build-uo. Often this is enough to revitalize an engine, the provision being that the smoothness is not due to the crosshatching being worn away. It would be good practice to change the oil post treatment.
Agree, and if it cleans the bores and pistons etc that’s often a good thing.
My reference to smoother, is the sound/feel of the diesel igniting is often filled down by the extras added to the tank softening the explosion. This often makes an engine feel better, even more powerful under acceleration. In many cases it isn’t though.
