Its a resonator, you may have a bit of a drone without it.
I have a non standard system and I'm putting a lager resonator on as I hate the drone at around 28-2900 revs

It's straight through if you look inside.Quote:

So no impediment to gases except when its like yours.

There is no noticeable drone at any revs, still sound quiet. The engine noise is louder than the exhaust at the back of the vehicle. Legally the exit has to be 400mm past the rear door/window. I'll get one from the wreckers or just a straight pipe.
Not quite 400 [emoji851]
The exhaust outlet must extend at least 40 mm beyond the furthermost outboard or rearmost joint of the floor pan that is not continuously welded or permanently sealed and which could permit direct access of exhaust gases to the passenger compartment, but not beyond the perimeter of the vehicle when viewed in plan.
AGAIN?????

Actually, this is hopefully good. I've been sitting on my rrs for some time, and this is my car going hopefully to get an auto fitted. Big risk, as auto is out of a donor car, as my Carer's pension doesn't run to big $$$ car bills, but fingers crossed it will work long enough for me to sell the hopefully redundant Ford to fund any further breakdown. I can't tell you all how much I'm looking forward to driving the thing. I like Fords, after a fashion, but they ain't a Disco.
Put a new turbo cartridge in this afternoon and was surprised how bad my old one was
It now picks up a lot quicker and also now spins the tyres until the traction control kicks in (the roads were wet)
But it ain’t no racing car lol
Next step will be to remove the middle exhaust box and replace with a hot dog of some description
