I started at the top of a long list of items to check on the non working starter motor. First cab of the rank was "Percussive Maintenance" Hit it with a hammer. So I did. The starter motor works!! A question or two, how long will this 'repair' last? And why did it need this? The starter motor was rebuilt, with new contacts about 3.5 years ago.
EDIT
The impedance of the front left ABS is infinity, it is open circuit. I need a new hub!!
EDIT
Land Rover do not make the hubs, MLR says so. What one do I pick? the 2 for $237? The DMS one for $450? I bought an "OEM" that wasn;t, it failed, I after a month, I did get a refund. I tried a $500 one that lasted a few months. Any idea? buy a D4?
The M8x1.25 press fit have arrived. These fit in the SLS air bag, I'm hoping to resurrect the spare one and stop one on the car from leaking.
So, Ive had the misfortune to manage to get a hole in my passenger side rear quarter panel.
Pretty sure something hit it or I managed to hit a fence reversing with a trailer because my mother doesn't know how to direct me ?.
My plan for fixing is bashing it out with a hammer then spac filler and paint

Bit of a Christmas present for the White one.
I picked up the rebuilt auto from Discorevy last week and so Christmas eve it was wheeled into the shed....
Over the last week I've swapped out the transmission, fixed a few leaks on the transfer box (normal O ring replacements) tidied up some of the previous owners spare cabling.
But the biggest thing was installing the V8 torque converter[bigrolf]
Finally went for a test drive this morning, sooooo much nicer to drive, still need to get a tune and a few other bits, also fixed a trans fluid leak (lack of fill plug washer will cause that...)[bigwhistle]
But now I think I've got a CV on the way out, I get a bit of a click/clunk when moving forward and then applying the brakes, not bad but noticeable and definitely from the front end, I've checked all the rubber bushes etc as it sounds like something knocking, oh well, it's the gift that keeps on giving....
Cheers
Redd
Nice to meet you Redd, they certainly drive much better with the V8 converter.
with the clunk, it would be worth checking the bolts on the radius arms and if they're ok, check the diff backlash for starters.
I'll go off now, and check my oil drain pan for a fill plug washer[smilebigeye]
