Yep and every combination. All done from underneath. I find that top nut not too difficult once started but it's important to undo it before the lower bolts. A lot of the 3hrs was taken up by getting clean after.

Ta, I would have TC which confuses with torque converter and HDC which is for me obvious.
I have not been a fan of the HDC in the D2. I think it comes on too sudden and too severe, dropping the speed quickly. I hope that the D3 and 4 is more gentle. Having said that, with a buggered shoulder, it was nice having a bit less to think about last weekend at Baw Baw National Park.

I love the traction control in low range, I have a better idea of how to plant the right foot after a couple of training courses with the LROCV. I still find it mind boggling at what the car will climb up in a sedate(ish) manner, without thrashing the **** out of it. 3000rpm in first is not thrashing the **** out of it I have decided.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Is there a difference in Ball Joint brands? Delph or Lemforder? That’s the only 2 brands that Mario has

I'd go Lemforder purely as they're the OE joint, and most Landy Workshops I know of do the same.
Delphi should be good, but I have no experience with them.

Yesterday I modified the steering stops as the turning circle on my D2 was diablolicly bad especially with the 305/70/16 tyres.

It was a very simple process. Just grind down the stops on the arms on the brake/wheel assembly approx 5-10mm depending on how wide your tyres are. As an addition I installed some rubber plugs from clack rubber. The beauty of the plugs is you can use some washers as a shim if you cut too much off and you don’t here a metal on metal clunk when u hit the limiter.

Brilliant little mod. About 1m of turning dia and makes car more agile when parking. I assume lots of others have done this but couldn’t find anything on the search.

And the bite from my combo is amazing.

Next on my list of things to do. Just did all 5 watts linkage bushes on Saturday. Not too bad of a job, spent more time in swapping sockets for spanners and back again for the different but and bolt sizes, as well as room to work. The outer chassis bushes game me the most trouble pressing in since the outsides are rubber. Just a little fiddly, but was able to to it without too much dramas. This week or next I need to give Todd a call at Delios and order new slotted discs with ceramics.

Just don’t like dust What happened to your Discovery 2 today? work in dusty stuff all day - don’t need it from my brakes....

And 1 set of pads every 100k and 2 sets per rotor replacement seems good enough for me!
