So the key fobs are definitely not made by Apple then

It might also be time to get the manifold ceramic coated after you have it de-wedded and machined flat?

What’s the benefit of extended studs?

Ceramic coating was on the list but this car is an everyday drive & ceramic coaters have a 2 week lead time.

Is dewebbing really going to help? From what I’ve heard it’s ancidotal at best

A friend is a tool maker, he’s machining it flat now. Welch plug is indented from the webbing but still fine. Doesn’t appear to be leaking

I got a second manifold and did all the work before swapping
Longer studs and spacers, from what I've read it helps with the warp/broken stud effect??
De-webbing helps to mitigate the growth longitudinally of the manifold as you cut out the long joined sections.
I've done all of these including ceramic coated, but sans the long bolts, couldn't get them in time! but used a large thick belleville washers from my local bolt supplier that have worked great! But could also be attributed to the de-wedded and coated manifold??

    Cheers Lemo

Plus elongate or drill oversize all of the manifold holes except the centre ones. ( more towards the ends)
Mercedes studs fit ,and are better material than stock . I don't know which model but that is what I have along with Belleville washers and drilled out holes , ceramic coating in and out, and dewebbed.
When you deweb the warp reduces so they do tend to increase the warp.
So far at 10Kk so good up to 750C.( for very short periods)
    Regards Philip A
PS the longer studs mean you have to undo the turbo drain as you cannot move the turbo back far enough to clear the studs. I broke my drain.( or le plunger Zut Alors)

What a silly thing to say. I am currently surrounded by about a dozen Apple products, one of which is 19 years old, and the newest is 2, and all still work perfectly. Wish I could say the same for the three keys I've had to buy for my LR.

Not really a silly thing to say, I have 2x key fobs 1 is the original that works just fine despite being held together by tape and another that is 3 years old that also works perfectly despite being dropped in the drink and being soaked with rain on occasion.
I have owned 2x brand new iPhones that never made it to their first birthday due to moisture.
My comment was in reply to a key fob that survived a washing machine and I know for a Fact that that one of the iPhones I had didn't.

Sorry, but putting any piece of high tech through the washing machine seems silly to me.

I knew precisely what you were saying. Have you tried putting your "Samsung product" through the wash? I currently have 2 iPhones and an iPad, and I avoid treating them this way.

I just get a little sick and tired of all this product bashing. Apple make great stuff. So do Samsung ( although their self drying Galaxy Note 7 was perhaps not so great). Make your choice, but don't put down another's. It isn't funny, and given the latest revelations about Google and Android and your data, perhaps you might think again, given what Tombie tells you.

Anyway, I see enough "flame war" **** on the tech blogs, so I'll bow out of this one.
