Finally fitted the replacement aircon clutch plate and new plastic clips on the wiper arms.

Strictly speaking, I didn't do it to the Disco, the auto electrician did. I had intended to do all this but, as per my other thread, have been somewhat incapacitated and it's all now been done properly.
1. Replaced old SLABS ECU with D2a 500070 type. Had various connections changed so I now have a properly working CDL light and 3 "bongs". Sierrafery's info on which connector and which pins was extremely useful.
2. Fitted speedo corrector and the sparky was extremely grateful for Slunnie's instructions which I gave him. Saved him a a lot of time. Speedo now reads 3% fast at 100kph.
3. From my thread on fitting the D1 transfer case, I asked about the absence of a Hi/Lo switch on the TC. Have had a dash switch fitted so I can select Lo manually. Also had CDL actuator switch fitted to the same panel.
4. Had a separate switch for spotlights fitted to same panel.

Doing this lot myself would probably have taken me a week and it wouldn't have been as neat. Well worth the money to me to get it all done. Grey wire under dash is for Engine Manager coolant temp display. This will be replaced by a Madman EMS3 when Jan eventually gets one for me.

At first, I butchered my old one to accept carlin type switches. Worked, but look fugly.
Then found a link on here to a site that sold 3D printed stuff, and someone had offerred them up for sale. Got two(one for bro's D2 .. mine's a D1).
Love it. I have more switched to add one day,.. at the moment just a USB port volt meter combo, and two blanks.
Bro fitted his compressor and diff lock switches.
damned expensive for what it is tho .. mainly postage, and why I got two.
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

						SubscriberThe weirdest thing happened today.
I was driving along when I smelled a strong smell of diesel. I thought it was the car in front but shortly someone came up beside us and gesticulated that somethiong was wrong. This was after going 500km last week and coming back today .
I manged to pull inand bloody diesel everywhere out of the engine bay.
Pulled off the sound shroud and it was ****ing out of the FPR.
I started up and saw it was coming out of the union where the hose goes to the front of the head. A few weeks ago I changed the FPR and it didn't leak at all.
The union was loose so I tightened it and the leak stopped.
It must have started leaking a small amount earlier as the back door is covered in diesel mist.
Are these known to undo, or was it falsely tight , not being straight on the socket. I suspect that it was not fully tight, then loosened of just a bit allowing fuel past the oring. I suspect that the fact that the open end spanners I had would hit the side of the head with the limited rotation may have misled me.
Only took about 20minutes to fix and get going, so while it was a PITA it cost nothing except the lost diesel.
Regards PhilipA

At least you've nicely (ok, only temporarily) rust proofed underneath!
