    FPR pipe

Got a call from son to have a look at the D2 as he could smell diesel under the bonnet.
Thinking FPR but on inspection found the pipe from the head to the FPR - EU3 model - was completely undone and pouring fuel.

Thought it would be a simple job to tighten up but no! What a pain to get to buried in the inlet manifold. Fortunately I had some o-rings from a kit that fitted the connection as the existing one was broken. Biggest problem was having to make a spanner to access the nut and tighten.

Can’t imagine how this came loose. The FPR was replaced when I had the head done about 8 years ago. At least we have a spanner for any future issue.

Any particular reason why you fitted a temp gauge for the LT230 (along with the deeper sump)?

Maybe not, but this car has obviously been set up for "extreme" use, but even so, it didn't occur to me that the TC should get overly hot? Plus what is overly "hot" in this case?

It adds another 900ml of oil to aid cooling plus from the manufacturer website it's self who make the gauge and sump "The gauge is an essential fitment to Land Rovers with high power modified engines" always good to see the temps of stuff

Wow! I'm seriously impressed. You got Land Rover and high powered engine in the same sentence, without the use of a negative.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
