As far as I know, the transfer case neutral is a north American, Japanese feature. Watch this space.

After nearly 6 months of trouble free running he has developed a mis-fire…. Starts fine, runs for 5-10 minutes on all cylinders then seems to drop one….on way home from soccer training last night the 9 y/o says ‘why is it vibrating like that, feels like it is running rough….?’
I rain out of fuel the other week but has been fine up to last night and again this morning….
Will try the injector harness and fuel filter first….hopefully not an injector….
All pressures and temps are fine….

    Thoughts….?

Gave it a good run on the highway. Love the V8 and the rattles (Cape York will do that to a car) and shifting gears. The D2 handles so nicely - LR got that spot on.
    Cheers

Had a fiddle with hill descent switch and Lo and behold it somehow had been jammed on - most likely a PEBKAC error thanks all for your sagely advice- Owen

Started it up yesterday after doing o-rings and washers last week. drip drip drip . Had used the FPR Block that came with the replacement head coz it had less wear in the outlet port thread, but did not swap the pressure regulator unit out with the one I had bought a few months back to fix the same leak in the original block.

So today swapped out the regulator with the newer bosch unit and problem solvered.

Very easy to play with FPR Block when there is no fuel cooler hanging off the side of the inlet manifold !

Took it for a 50 minute spin of highway and townie ( home thru Gawler) driving and highest fuel temp was 70 Celsius, fluctuated between 67 and 69 mostly.

I have attached the nanocom file for anyone who is interested ( hope I have !)

Modified the return fuel line by chopping off the end that goes into the FPR Block, chopped off the quick connector on the return line then used a 6mm tube 8cm long to tie the fitting and fuel line together, then 2 layers of heavy duty heat shrink over the lot.

Extra room for hands without fuel cooler.

    1. Fixed the driver window that was stuck down by pulling the door card and giving the motor a couple of taps with the handle of a screwdriver. Must have been a stuck brush.
    2. Finished fitting the vacuum CDL switch
    3. Repaired the instrument binnacle using a mix of super glue and epoxy resin and fibreglass after it turned itself into a jigsaw puzzle when attempting to remove it to fit the CDL switch. This stuff is the most pathetic plastic I've ever experienced. It's like working with egg shells.
    4. Since I had the epoxy out, also repaired the centre console caddy/mounting that was also in a few pieces
    5. Discovered that the car is alive or possessed or something because it starting pranking me during the day by turning on the headlights at random intervals for about 15 seconds and going "bong... bong... bong...". Every time I ran over to take a look, it stopped. Checked the Rave wiring schematic and it should not be doing that!
