Well the white wagon let me down (sort of) my daughter was using it while I gave her Getz a bit of love (timing belt, plugs, water pump, coolant flush, pads and rotors all round)
The idea was I'd return it when I flew out for work on Sunday, anyway she calls Thursday morning "I can't unlock the car and the unlock button has fallen inside the fob!" I'd finished the Getz so off to Perth with the spare key, swapped vehicles and homeward bound again in the Disco. Got home, yep, the little button on the circuit board had come off, no worries, I've got a roll of like 50 of them ready (Aliexpress) Of course, I couldn't get the switch to solder back to the board, tried a few tricks, none worked.
Fine, I've got a couple spare keys/boards, just need to code one of them. As I run an old Nano 1 things took a lot longer and didn't want to work
tried again next day after referring to AULRO to the correct directions, finally got it working as it should
But, now when I put any key in the ignition I get like 6 'Bongs" I've no idea how I turned them on, even less idea how to turn off, so I'm open to suggestions...
Apart from that, it's trucking along nicely, the young blokes red truck is working well and sometime in the next 6 weeks I'll start on the Blue rescue D2 (It had been sitting for at least 6 years with an oil cooler leak, still starts and runs well, absolutely stock as a rock and only 230,000 on the clock)
Land Rover life, the gift that keeps on giving...
cheers
