    D2 gauges / switch / UHF locations?

Having just bought a d2 I'm looking at location ideas to mount gauges / switches / UHF. I tried a quick search but didn't come up with many pics etc.
thought it might be a good idea to have similar pics on one tread.
Previous cars have been pure bush toys so didn't have to look nice, I kinda want to keep this one looking half decent.
I'm thinking remote face UHF below cup holder, Boost and pyro on or near A pillar, and watchdog up in map pocket. Then I was hoping to keep switches for lights etc factory looking by using the blanks in the cluster surround or factory switch block possibly utilizing a modded rear demister button.

Feel free to share pics of your dash accessories / mods / ideas

    Cheers.

    Hi mate,

I haven't got any pics of my setup, but I've got my slimline UHF sitting inside the map pocket. I've also just ordered one of these large MUD pods for my winch, light bar and camp light switched, plus boost/EGT gauges. (Pods and Binnacles)
I wanted a pillar pod like the Patrols/Cruisers have but I couldn't find anyone making one for any Disco's...

Also I want to get a D1 switch pack which slides straight in where the ashtray goes on the D2, using D1 switches looks pretty much factory for various things...

For switches / gauges / USB ports etc Large Mud Pod is the way to go, they are pricey but worth the money in my opinion. The only other option for keeping the switches standard is to pick up a few cruise control switches and replace them with appropriate face plates (D1 have a good range). I understand that is the only way to keep it 100% with the stock look as all other switches are momontary and the cruise control switches latch. I have a couple lying around so if you decide to go down that path send me a PM.

You can also use your coin tray and replace it with a stock D1 switch mount (holds three), whilst this works, i dont like the look of it as it doesn't sit 100% flush and I use my coin tray!

I mounted 3 switches above the mirror. Have compressor and winch controls up there. Used 7 core trailer wire as it's easy to run and dosent need high current as everything is just for switching relays.
    Will get a photo later.

As for guages. I use an ems madmen 2. It's still sitting in a weaco stubby holder on the right of my dash next to pillar. But plan was to mount it in a box.

I'm still unsure if I'm a fan of the pod, I would not like to alter the lines of the dash if that makes sense. I know I am picky!

Still keen to see more pics, has anyone done an A pillar pod?
I'll have a play this weekend and put up some pics of ideas.

Phat customs did an A pillar mod I'm pretty sure.
I had my remote face below the cup holder but kept bumping it with the low range lever. Mine is now above the rear vision mirror, with a rocker switch in the sunroof panel for my driving lights.
I agree, I don't want to change the lines of the dash with a mud pod.

The D1 accessory switch panel will clip straight into the dash of the D2 where one of the ash trays live, that will give u 3 switch locations using OEM switches.

A pillar boost gauge, and mounted my madman and UHF in the overhead console with a nifty stainless plate. Left room in the plate for 4x 20mm round switches that I bought off eBay or can be had from jaycar.

I think you should start making more of those pillar gauges ☺ They look factory made. I'm sure you would sell alot of them 😆 A twin holder would be perfect.
