    Turbo Whistle...

    Hi All,

    With the 2001 TD5 Discovery I have just brought it has a Turbo whistle. I will try and get a video later. But last TD5 Discovery I had no Turbo noise.

    I have heard other Discovery's sound the same and when I was in Newcastle the LR Mechanic told me they do make Turbo noise if they have been tuned.....

    Not sure if this is the case, but other one I have heard is by removing the EGR valve, this increases the Turbo noise.

    I dont think there is anything wrong with mine,(well hoping) but was curious to know if people have notice increase in Turbo Noise by doing either of these mods......

    Turbo Whistle...

    I get a slight spooling sound from idle to about 1200 rpm. After that it gets drowned out by the rest of the motor.

    Mine does it from idle de egr'd de catted rear silencer removed but standard tune

    Mine could whistle a tune from stock.
    More so now with no centre muffler but it drones like a bad english teacher
