Don't know about D2s but a good way to kill ignition locks is hang a ton of keys from them. I must admit I have heaps of keys on mine. So should head my own advice.![]()
I've just moved into the Perth area and my D2 ignition is starting to play up. Do you have the contact details for the locksmith that you used on the ignition barrel?
Cheers
Joel

Tristan on here is a semi mobile locksmith and lives in Coogee. Highly recommended and has a Disco.

Possibly not the orthodox way, but I removed several of the worst worn pins. The barrel still performs as designed and as there is the transponder and alarm I am not too concerned about the security aspect.
Definitely agree that a light keyring is optimum, also deduce from the wear that the previous owner slid the key in at an angle
I just put a bit of graphite in it and that works a treat! Repeat when necessary (usually about 18 months).
Your posts merged. Don't put the same question in multiple threads, it splits the answers you may get.

Multiple answers to the key barrel question all over . A search will find them. And as been said lots of times too, Graphite in ignition barrels are not a good idea. Graphite is an electrical conductor. Use a non acidic spray lubricate sparingly, Inox is a good product, being electrical contact safe. And avoid a Tower of London type key ring collection on it.

Why is it not a good idea schuy1?
I've been using it for years in my D2 ignition barrel without any issues.
