Thanks mate. I wonder if I should use the opportunity to ship my manual ECU (which is sitting in pride of place on the passenger seat) over to Tornado and have Mark Adams install a new program via a new chip set to better suit the 4.6 high comp motor - albiet with a stock slightly smaller diameter MAF).
Pedro, did you end up doing the 4.6 NAS MAF or are you happy with the stock inlet pipe and MAF combined with the re-chipped ECU from Mark? Is it worth doing the chip without the MAF and pipe?
Cheers
YES!!
to both,,
(how did you know?? :p)
Last Friday finally had the OZ 4.6RR Thor airbox lid and MAF installed. Its too early yet for me to pick an improvement between 4L and 4.6L mafs,,
But you WILL see a huge difference just using the 4.6 Tornado,, makes it all worth while:D;)
Pedro did yours have an acceleration flat spot before the new ECU...Mark talks of a common one.
Cheers
Ok my Corrosion X covered ECU and BCU back in and lights off, no codes and she works again. Flashing Odo so it needs to be told to accept Odo value i think.
Jeez the 4.6 is a nice strong motor. If anyone is wondering just do it.
I have decided not to do the Tornado Chip. It has zero flat spot and revs clean amd hard right to redline.
Cheers
For the flashing odometer ONLY DISABLE THE ODOMETER WARNING IN THE BCU settings do not select "sync BCU to odometer" or vice-versa cos you might end up with a higher mileage on dash
I was with the same problem a long time, many TC and pending descent lit sporadically. The solution is very simple, change the brake stop light switch. It seems impossible but it WORKS! If you are handy, it will be enough to disassemble and clean with a good contact cleaner
