Disco II TD5 injectors

Change mechanic. Go to an LR capable guy/girl. The condition of the injectors won't be known unless put in a test rig.
Most mechanics will have a look at the pattern on the piston crown for "visual" check before deciding to take further action.
Since the visual inspection requires the head to be removed or a "boroscope" (internal camera) and these haven't been mentioned,
I'm assuming neither have been done.

As earlier posts also state - you would be the unluckiest person in the world to lose 4 out of 5 injectors. Of course bad fuel could do it - but then your mechani would certainly be telling you(not suggesting) to drain and clean the fuel system completely.

I like Strangy's suggestion better.

Get the car away from that mechanic and to someone who knows Land Rovers, as the TD5 injectors are unique except in heavy trucks and a mechanic who doesn't know his arm from elbow will just cause him a load of grief and money spent.
Come on OP tell us what is happening. Someone may be able to help you.

Sorry for the late reply (work, work, work). Your feedback is certainly much appreciated, see Responses to your queries below:

• "Passed away": no longer functioning.
• Mine is 220 Ks
• About the mechanic no issues, he's a LR specialist. Not any mechanic should touch these cars. What is happening: injectors are flooding the combustion chamber.
• Where I live diesel quality is terrible. Previous owner never took good care of basic maintenance things. Like using a good additive for diesel. I have had the D2 for almost 3 years so I presume after 10 years of constant fueling with low quality diesel led to this . Besides, I went river crossing the weekend before and got stuck in mood (see pics attached) and was driving like on a regular road on the river (low tide and nice low depth to do this). After that the whole situation came.
• Already ordered good condition used injectors. Will buy new seals and washers.
• Injector harness and ECU checked: no oil (indeed I changed the harness a year and half ago)

Sad but true...4 out of 5. Next week will change the injectors...fingers crossed

Ok thanks for the feedback however the issue regarding the injectors requiring replacement is unresolved to my mind.
Where in Australia are you that has such poor fuel?

In mine as well, further homework still to be done. Will keep you posted. Forgot to mention I'm currently in Costa Rica. Diesel here sucks, LRs and other European car brands have a hard time with the injectors due to that. For instance: you can a 2 year old diesel Discovery throwing out black smoke like crazy and have to be taken to the dealership for injectors clean up.

Australians are in my opinion the best 4x4 mechanics, therefore I knocked at your door fellows. Read all yours posts; certainly very the input has been very useful. I have no doubt I'm on the right forum.
