Interesting comments on Nulon and Synchro boxes,i have been running Nulon in the gearbox of my old Volvo 164 and it has been a dog to change ever since.
Just finished putting Penrite 75W90 in my D2 diff's and transfer case.
HPR5 in the TD5 and about to use the Penrite Fully Synthetic in the Auto.
Did use the Nulon Red coolant in the radiator thou.

And I repeat what I said. If by reading the Good Oil section and was unable to understand and transfer across the relative meanings regarding oil viscosity and weights to the oils you were chasing. 80w90 is an 80w90 be it a synthetic or a mineral or a semi syn, A rose by any other name etc.Quote:

Going by what I have read here oils are not all equal as Castrol seems superior to nulon as far as gear box oil goes even thou they may have the same weight or viscosity it's not about not being unable to understand or transfer information. As my original post said I was asking about a pacific brand of oil again I'm sorry if this post is confusing for you as many here understand the original post and yes a rose by any other name is still a rose but not all created equal.
Different people like different oils. This is another topic where you throw out a "which is better?..." And you'll get 20 dif answers. What works for one may not work for everyone. It is truly a matter of personal preference based on past experiences, etc.
I use Nulon 75 90w semi synthetic for the gear box, transfer case and diffs, because its meets the specs, It is cheaper than a fully synthetic and better than a fully mineral. Basically the price is right.
I do not have any stiff gear change problems when cold.
