    TD5 Coil Spring Replacement

    Gents,
The D2 TD5 has sagged a bit in the front end so its time to replace the coil springs, any suggestions on what type and where from? there are so many options out there, If I give it a 2" lift do I have to change the front D/Shaft? as I have seen this suggested elsewhere. Best to change them all.

I raised mine about 20MM by fitting a set of RRC Green (rear) springs that I had left over from my RRC.

You can buy the same spring from LRA in Melbourne.

They do not have a bottom cut out like a pucka D2 spring, but LRA reckon this is no problem, and I just cut a bit of the bottom flat off mine, and have had no problems even with GRR etc.
With that lift you still have castor and no need for new driveshaft.

Terrafirma do a good job, so do Dobinsons. If you have a bull bar, I suggest you use at least medium load 2" springs. No need to change drive shaft on front or rear, but you may need to modify the crossmember to allow the tail shaft enough room at full front extension. When you change the rear, you will need to extend the brake lines.
    Terrafirma Part numbers are TF023V (+50mm rear) & TF042 (+50mm front).

I have had these on for 12 months and find them great.

I would go with the Dobinsons over Terras, mainly for longevity, unless you plan on changing again in 12-18 mths, And they are made in QLD!

A 2" lift need to lower front cross member as mentioned before.
The brake lines just need to be relocated - just lower the brackets - their have been threads on this in the past.
Suspension stuff (are they still around?) have some reasonable 2" kits - worth looking at.

I went dobinsons front and rear. Went longer brake lines just Incase and unclipped the abs lines to get a bit more length on them ( they do get a little tight on full droop) I also added the LRA Angled cross member spacer as I put fairly long shocks in the front. Still standard front driveshaft.
Ride is good both on road and on the dirt, does not feel wallowy on the road. Still have sway bars installed, I have extended rear sway bar links but this is not required.
    Lift clears 265/75s no problem.

    Juan,

If you lift it, fit +2" shocks to prevent it 'topping out', for these you will need a 1/2" cross member spacer, anything longer and you need to look at brake lines, ABS lines and an angled crossmember spacer.

If you keep it standard height then use a genuine or dobinson spring. If you lift it, I would use either Dobinsons or genuine RRC/D1 rear springs.

That should get the ball rolling...
