    D2 key remote

    Hello all, I have looked at the posts covering this topic. I need a spare key as the spare key I had is no longer on the key rack. You may find this hard to believe, but the key is not where I left it, hanging on the rack. Of course no one has seen it.
    Any how would this one do?

    So long as your lock system is 433mhz that will do the job. early discos had 315mhz locking system recievers. Not sure when the 433 came in, around 2000 I think, some1 may know. Just pop your remaining key housing apart and it should be on the circuit board.

    Go for the one fluids linked to but ask them if it is definitely a land rover key and not a rover 75 , schuy 1 is right , 433 MHz from 2000 on , 315 before that , you sure its not on the rack?

    Key found!

    I have found the key, in the wife's car. The wife cannot drive an manual, but the learner driver would have grabbed the log book from the Disco.

    433 mhz vs 315 mhz

    The main reason some use 433 MHz instead of 315 MHz is because of the country it is designed to be used in. These keyfobs use the ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) band of the rf spectrum as no licence is needed to use this band. In Australia 433mhz is one of those bands and the USA uses 315 mhz. So just google the ism bands for a particular country to work out if it is 315 or 433 MHz keyfob.
