New member - 2002 Discovery 2 TD5 Auto
Hello,
I've just purchased a Discovery 2 TD5 automatic of a grey nomad in exceptional condition. Only 118,000 kms on the clock, service history and 1 owner from new! It's completely bog standard and drives like new and only has a small clunk underneath when cornering (body loading), so I'm hoping it's just a bush or bushes gone. No noises when in a straight line, accelerating or braking.
When she reaches 120,000kms my plan is to give here a thorough service:-
Including all filters (Air, oils, fuel)
Transmission filter replacement.
Check the timing chain pulley bolt and loctite it back in.
EGR removal with a kit.
Fit new cooling hoses.
Check brakes, suspension etc
Grease driveline.
Is there anything else you would recommend with regards to preventative maintenance?
I was going to buy genuine filters from Land rover unless you can recommend another source?
Great forum with a wealth of information : )
Cheers

If its anything like mine when I bought it with 134Kk on it there are a few more items to check.
1 engine mounts. Mine were gone with no off road
2 Fuel Pressure regulator. You will be lucky if it doesn't leak.
3 fuel cooler. This will probably be leaking water also. new oring kit will fix
4 make sure to replace the "hidden hose" down behind the turbo
5 My camshaft plug was leaking and took out the alternator
6 idler pulleys. an idea to replace
7 accessory drive belt. again replace
8 inspect Injector loom for oil in ECU plug. replace if oily.
9 EGR . I haven't removed mine , just cleaned with a Gurni.
10 clean intercooler and check hoses
The bolt you replace is for the oil pump.
