    Dash Warning Lights Query

    Hello,
I am assuming that all the warning lights light up for a few seconds wen the ignition key is turned to the 1 position. Some of mine do not. One of these is the CDL light. However when I engage the CDL I get the chimes and the light comes on.
    What gives?

    Thanks

For the CDL is normal, this particular one is not included in the instrument pack's warning lamp self test.... just dont ask me why ... if you have others too from existing equipment which are missing the self test then it might be some trouble

TCS and water in fuel filter sensor, but the that is not connected.
The only ones I can think of at the moment.

All the warning lights of the existing systems should work on self test except the CDL, those are not bulbs but LEDs and it's very uncommon for them to fail, the self test is managed by the instrument pack only to check the warning lamps then they must go out but if there is a current fault in one of the systems the implied warning(warnings) will come on again or stay on after the others are out.

you can force each warning on with tester to check it

what do you mean by TCS?

    TCS = Traction Control System

I'll have to have a good look at what doesn't light up

    The TC light
the HDC light, not at all, in low range and selecting HDC I get the chimes, three of them, in high range I get continual chimes.
The glow plug does not light up, maybe it's too warm here.
High-Low range lamp not lit up when in transfer case in neutral.
The car is a manual without ACE or SLS

Also, maybe not related, the left hand indicator also sets the trailer direction indicator flashing. Not with the RH indicator.

Was a nanocom plugged in it lately and linked to the BCU? ... it used to have it's mind of it's own from time to time and alter factory settings without request, the TC, HDC and can be disabled ONLY with nanocom(which IMO is not correct at all cos these are built in systems not optional), also it might be set to petrol which will stop the glow plug light top work, normally it must come on all the time while the coolant temp is below 20*C

better find somebody with nanocom if you dont have one and check all the warning lamp settings in the BCU first of all

    Dash Light all good

I've plugged in the Nanocom, fiddled with the settings, I am not sure what I am doing with the Nanocom. (the trip metre went to zero and the car wouldn't start, I got out the car locked and unlocked and then it started up same as always.)
Any way, all the warning lights that should light up, do light up.

The only error code is an intermittent open circuit with the RHS pre-tensioner. Connectors under the seat I think.

    Cheers
