anyone local to nowra with a fancy brake bleeder

Gday all ,,, with the D2 on the stands i thought i would look at the brakes ,,, i changed the rear disks as they were down to 8,2 mm YES 8.2 mm
What dodgy work shop machined them to that ,,, the min is 11.4 mm

Any how i check most things and have ordered new disks all round ,,, the brake pedal seems very low like there is air in the system >
has anyone got a fancy power bleeder ?
or i will just have to do the old fashioned way

    Rob,
No need for pressure or vacuum bleed IMHO. I had a low spongy pedal on the D2 when I got it... bled brakes and no change. Was combination of 1 seized and several almost seized caliper pins, so worth checking those. If buggered they are pretty cheap at about $90 (ish) for all 4 calipers.

Easiest way is to use 2 long lengths of wire and a toggle switch and use this to bridge the abs relay cicuit as you do each wheel just cycle the abs pump and open the bleed nipple

Sent from my SM-G900I using AULRO mobile app

I've used that method but have a few questions:

1/ Is it the equivalent of a power bleed done with the LR testbook / Hawkeye / Nanocom which I believe bleeds the ABS pump?

2/ Do you pulse the pump or let it run continuously.

Excellent that has motivated me to have a go at constructing a pressure bleeder - what did you use to make the reservoir cap?

Yes, same result as using Testbook because the ABS pump is used and it flushes the internal pathways by doing so and it's a far superior method to using the brake pedal or an external pump because of it.

Only need to run the ABS pump after a bleed nipple is opened then stop it once the nipple is closed, but no harm done if left running other then eventually overheating the ABS pump.

Hi Graeme - thanks for responding. Since posting I've done some more research and found a post on AULRO that explains that it's not quite the same and offers a solution to compensate.

I just used a metal plate and brased a brass fitting on ,,, cut some soft rubber as a gasket and drilled a hole each side and used 2 turnbuckles and a small chain from the craft shop ,,,, just clamp down over the master cyl and pump up to 10 to 15 PIS ,,, wander around crack the nipples ,,,, nice clean fresh oil ,,,,
and the best pedal i have had on any landrover ,,
