Dgd69 and MarknDeb.
You both say that these can be repaired in the bush.
You both have used aluminum rads, so what differs from to factory ally rad?
How is it repairable in the bush?
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Can't remember brand was off eBay it is slightly larger than original in dimensions but does keep it a little bit cooler than standard but not a big difference as car tows a heavy cub camper all over the place
it was a little bit of fiddling around to fit
spacing intercooler away from it as it would of rubbed
fan cowling a bit of modifying
Trans cooler pipes just moved a bit to go around it
Other than that fitted well been in for ages no problems at all

I recently replaced mine with oem one from Mario at Roverlord spares. Exact fit and made in Scotland quality , good price too.
The oem type has more than enough cooling capacity.
Cheers

This is my aftermarket replacement - about 3 years old - doesn't handle the corrugations up here. The original did the same. I have an Allisport aluminium radiator fitted now. Main reason I fitted a full aluminium radiator was ease of repair in the bush. I had a look at cheap aluminium radiators and there is not the slightest comparison in quality. Allisport was expensive, but hopefully it lasts.
Edit - the Allisport is my fourth radiator. Radiator number two was only fitted for 10 minutes. The plastic spigot that the overflow bottle hose connects to was drilled way off centre and blew out as soon as the motor got hot. The supplier in England flew out a replacement straight away with apologies.
Thanks - looks like many men in the pub!!!!
Yep, I'm looking at PWR full alloy in Qld for when some shekels come in. Over a grand - ouch!

Hi Gavin
Just a couple of things worth checking before forking out .
is the oversize trans cooler covering the a/c condenser , if so does it have a gap ( should be around 20 mm) , are you running a genuine 82 degree thermostat?, and finally with the engine idling is there a decent flow from the telltale under the expansion tank cap ( this will tell you how good the flow is from your water pump) but you just need to make sure the flow is not blocked first , cheers
