All Alloy D2a TD5 radiator that is not $1K Allisport

Has anyone fitted an all alloy radiator to a TD5 from Ebay? I need to replace mine as i've snapped the overflow return line off, i've also put the screw through the tank by mistake before. So figured i may as well replace it, I seen these and thought it might be better than a plastic tank one.

    Example below.

Some say the weld`s look average which they do but i think there is a member or 2 on here that run the same or similar in There D2`s but i think they are reluctant to post for fear of condemnation

    Hi Jazzman,
I've fitted an Ally radiator made or at least sold by ASI, also bought off Fleabay, I didn't buy one for a TD5, it was somethng else. Personally I had no problem with the radiator or the quality, looked good and also hadn't failed when I sold and moved onto something else.

    Cheers Marty

I thought that might be the case, but sadly that kind of thing seems to only happen in the D2 section of this forum.

If you dont use Bendix brake pads or even consider removing the ACE system the D2 elitists will condemn you

    Hi Jazzman

I fitted one of these about 18 mths ago when I broke off the overflow spiggot ( I have since refitted the old one after working out how to fix it) You will have to block off one of the small pipes at the bottom and block off and drill a smaller hole in the other.I used some alloy rod a mate turned down to size and glued them in with jb weld.It is also worth cutting out the slot that the transmission oil cooler slides in and use a different method of securing it or you will have to disconnect the oil pipes to fit it. Be careful when refitting the intercooler and make sure the locating pegs fit in the brackets on the side of the radiator or you will wear a hole in the air con condenser(I found out the hard way). I had it fitted for about 20,000 ks without any problem and it was still fine when I removed it,it seemed to run slightly cooler.
