open the coolant cap when its stone cold and give it a start. give it a few seconds and if you can see its blowing bubbles you've probably got a blown head gasket.

I blew the head on my 300tdi last year, less than a year of ownership. It was like someone had rammed an airgun into my coolant system.

New head and valve train, gaskets, new radiator and hoses whilst I was at it. I feel your pain and hope it's not a blown head
