    COOLANT HOSE FAILURE

So before putting my d2a on the road 18 months ago I decided to replace all the coolant hoses reseal the plug in the head etc etc so that I would have no issues purchased a new kit from one of our vendors and all was good ..........
Until Friday night 24 ks from home temp gauge drops off temp light comes on 2 1/2 hours later racv arrive and tow it home and the float as well !
Sat morning inspect the car and find a split coolant hose so replace it with the original fill it up test drive all ok so refill with coolant ,
Head to work and back no issue all appears good until tonight head to swan hill towing the tandem pick up some tractor tyres and return home to find a hot coolant smell upon inspection find coolant all over the chassis (drivers side ) coming from a pinhole where the hose tees off to the coolant reservoir ...... not happy , So now I'm on the hunt for oem or silicone to replace them so far I have found a kit of silicone on ebay for $215 which is a lot cheaper than the ones I had fitted but it does not have all the hoses has anyone else been able to source a complete kit ?????
have a good one :D ken :wasntme:

I just replaced my top and bottom hose too, along with a new radiator and water pump. All from a forum vendor. In the process I broke the radiator overflow hose as well, the plastic was just old and brittle (same problem as the output of the radiator, the reason I had to replace it). Linked the plastic hose together with a bit of rubber hose and it was all good.

Just last weekend I took it to Border Track and Big Desert State Park, with no issues.

You're pretty unlucky to to get a brand new hose to fail.

I don't think that they were I think genuine would have been a lot dearer and as I stated earlier they were purchased from a vendor on here

    Hi Outback 1,

Just be aware that your hose problems could be an early indication of a head gasket fail.

I have checked for that 2 and since I have changed the hoses and installed the engine saver temps are normal and no bubbles in the coolant reservoir
