3 amigos and broken rear brake light bulb

I used the speed limiter as an analogy for the limiter behaviour, not literally.

I had a bit of look at the ECU code, and yes both manual and auto have some fuel limiting with brakes.
The big difference is that the manual has an aggressive fuel cut with brakes application down to 800rpm.
The Auto has no cut at all below 1500rpm and is comparatively gentle above that point.

So a gentle drive with NC disconnected in my Auto wouldn't have given any real sense of a fuel cut under brakes, whereas in your Manual it would have been glaringly obvious.

Brakes will abort cruise control, but one of the tests for slipping Auto requires hard application of brakes and flooring the accelerator and there is no evidence of a fuel cut while doing that test.

Andrew as said before, merely a co incidence.
The intermittent coming on of the Amigos and them resetting after turning off and restarting symptom is often fixed by the ABS modulator option "B" fix. In a few vehicles I've done.
But check first if it is not coming on due to something else with a nanacom or similar.
