    Td5 Misfire

Ok, so this will be a bit of a long post but I am running out of ideas. Will be looking to use a mates Nanocom to see if it can shed any more light above what my Terrafirma diagnostics tool can do.

In saying all this I have replaced the injector loom as well as blocked off EGR and have bypassed the waste gate controller. Have tried disconnecting the MAF as well but no change.

    Am getting 3 fault codes.

2 of which are in relation to driver demand 2.
1 of which is a short peak for injector 5.

I had found a break in the wire for injector 5 down by where the engine loom crosses over the ACE lines down behind the battery box. Have since repaired it and the problem went away for a while.

It has come back however, and I have rechecked my soldering job and its fine. I noticed while driving this morning on the motorway and using cruise control that it wasn't misfiring any more. It would surge and misfire at all RPMs while using the pedal, was actually pretty dangerous how much it was doing it.

So that makes me think that it could be an issue with the throttle pedal, but why would it throw an injector code as well?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

With nanocom, put it in instrument mode then look at your throttle readings as you accelerate (car on, neutral, no need to drive unsafe). If you are surging and dropping in and out your throttle pedal is probably on the way out. To test, find out if you have a 2 or 3 track and swap it out (2 up to 02 I believe, or whenever the exact month the NNN ecu came in).

The injector fault may be related, may not be - throttle getting fixed first is priority I would say. Could just be the constant on off is stressing an injector and getting a smooth action out of the accelerator will fix it. Then again, I could be wrong!

+1, it seems that the TPS is making tricks, if you erased the injector code and still get it check if there's no residual oil in the ECU red plug, after the loom replacement you must clean the plug once a week untill all the oil leaves the harness cos it acts as an insulator and mixes up signals

What are the codes you are getting on the tps?

The codes will give a pretty good idea of what to look at.

You don't need the motor running to test the throttle pedal. On accessory is fine.

    Cheers
