New 4.6 top hat short, timing cover and oil pump on the way. Don't like my chance of being mobile before Xmas though:(
Well, it's finally going again, got it started on Tuesday 3rd. Finished fitting it Monday arvo, wouldn't start, read a post about crank angle sensor, same problem, spacers in wrong order.
So it is now a 4.6 flanged liner block with new timing cover and billet oil pump, new power cam and lifters, ARP head studs, composite gaskets and a few other minor bits.
Seems fairly lively, now need to give it a run to settle down and then see if it use more or less fuel than before.
All major parts from Triumph Rover Spares in South Aust.
If its the same fuel map,, it probably wont use much more fuel,,
How'd you go running the cam(crank:rolleyes:), in??:p

Do you mean cam? Followed supplier instructions, ignore noise at startup, run at around 2000rpm for min 10 minutes. Oil pressure came up in a few seconds, lifters went quiet pretty quickly.
All seems good now, need to get a few more km up though.
